Adelaida Cellars hosts ‘Outstanding in the Field’ dinner
– On Sunday, June 28, Chef Chris Kobayashi of Artisan Restaurant and their team will be preparing a special dinner in conjunction with the wines of Adelaida Cellars. At 2,320 feet, guests will have 180-degree views of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range and birds-eye views of the winery and the walnut orchards of Adelaida cellars below.
Twenty additional tickets were made available for the dinner this week, which was previously sold out. The meal will take place on the mountain above the winery, in a special clearing aptly called Hilltop. Prepared on site and with ingredients all sourced from local farms, Chef Kobayashi will pair the meal with Adelaida wines, which are 100-percent estate grown.
For over fifteen years, Outstanding in the Field, has been organizing events that celebrate the farmer and food in a unique setting. They have prepared more than 700 events, made ten coast-to-coast tours of North America, visited 45 of the United States and set their table in a total of nine countries. The meals are inspired to be a “traveling feast with a central vision of farmers, chefs, cheese makers, ranchers, foragers and winemakers in delicious communion with the people they sustain” according to the company’s website. Guests bring their own plates to dinner, a long-standing tradition of the events.
“We were honored to be approached by the Outstanding in the Field team,” said Jessica Kollhoff, general manager of Adelaida Cellars. “For our wines to be served with Chef Kobayashi’s spectacular creations makes for a heavenly pairing.” Kicking-off the event, the opening reception will feature Adelaida wines and Bristols Cider from neighboring winery Lone Madrone. The menu ranges from heirloom tomatoes, oysters, lamb, veal ragu to double-crust peach pie and fresh ice cream.
