City announces new set of road maintenance projects
– The City of Paso Robles announced it will begin another set of streets to be repaired using supplemental sales tax. The project is also being funded with a $25,600 “Rubberized Asphalt Grant.”
The streets to be repaired are:
- Walnut—Creston to Union Road
- Shannon Hill—Creston to Walnut
- Jackson—Shannon Hill to Union
The city’s contractor, Ferravanti Grading and Paving will be mobilizing the week of Aug. 24. The first order of work will be the construction of a cross-gutter at Shannon Hill and Walnut. Then they will perform all the “dig-out” repairs and “stabilization” at about 20 localized areas (approximately 20,000 square feet total). Then they will lower all existing utility covers (approximately 30 in total). Then they will begin the final “paving” phase.
Exactly which road segments they will begin their work will be determined as this phase of work approaches. Residents will be notified via door hangers and no parking signs will be posted 3-4 days prior to the date of paving.
Except for localized and short duration road closures, all roads should be opened to through traffic, although there may be delays during construction.
