Classic car show winners announced
The Golden State Classics Car Club held a cruise night Friday night and a car show Saturday for the Labor Day Weekend. The event was co-sponsored by the City of Paso Robles.
“We had a great weekend with the Golden state classics cruise and car show,” says organizer Russ Johnson. “A little warm Saturday but everything went very well.” There were 330 cars registered and a street full of people Friday evening and a park full Saturday, he said. “Thanks to all volunteers and sponsors for making this a very successful event.”
There were hundreds of pre-1979 classic cars cruising Friday night on Spring Street. The cruise started from the south end of the Paso Robles Event Center parking lot on Riverside Avenue at 6 p.m. The route went up 21st Street to Spring Street, and then from 24th Street down Spring to 6th Street. St. The cruise ran till 8 p.m.
The Classic Car Show was Saturday in the downtown City Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and featured classic cars from 1979 and older. All cars were required to be finished, licensed and insured to take part in the show.
“I want to thank the merchants in and around town and the city of Paso Robles and the volunteers for there support of this event,” says Johnson.
There was a raffle and silent auction in the park during the show with awards at around 2 p.m. Proceeds from this event go to local charities.
