Comic book creation class registration open

comic book classes in atascaderoA Comic Book Creation class will meet each Friday, beginning Sept. 19 and running through Oct. 17, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Colony Park Community Center located at 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero. Registration is currently being accepted at the Community Center or online at www.atascadero.org.

This Comic Book Creation class is a fun way of inspiring and motivating students in their love of cartoons and storytelling. Students will learn how to create their own cartoon characters by working in a humorous “Sunday Funnies” style, even if they’ve never drawn before.

Students will learn warm-up and imagination exercises, as well as be able to draw humorous, simplified faces and figures, cartoon animals and more. Students will then create their own comic strips with their own characters through the entire process of penciling, lettering, editing, and inking their work. The comics will be put together into an ebook (on a flash drive) to bring home.

Space is limited. For additional session information, please call (805) 470-3360. Questions regarding the class can be emailed to the instructor at raytoons@yahoo.com.
