Update: Paso Robles woman sustains major injuries in collision near Wellsona intersection

–Additional details were released regarding an accident that injured a Paso Robles woman A Paso Friday afternoon at the intersection of Wellsona Road and Highway 101.
Tracy Huntergajdos, 38, was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy westbound on Wellsona Road around 12:58 p.m. and crossed northbound Highway 101 into the southbound lanes. Mark Cossairt, 59, of Lincoln, Calif., was driving a Ford F-450 southbound on Highway 101 and collided with the right side of Huntergajdos’ vehicle as she drove across the road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Huntergajdos, who was rendered unconscious by the crash, had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center to be treated for major injuries. She sustained head trauma and rib and pelvic fractures.
Cossairt complained of chest pain, but refused hospital treatment. Vicky Cossairt, 56, was a passenger in Mark Cossairt’s truck at the time of the collision and sustained lacerations to her left foot and arm, and complained of shoulder pain but also refused hospital treatment.
It’s unknown if Huntergajdos intended to merge onto southbound Highway 101 or drive across the road and continue westbound on Wellsona Road, CHP says.
The collision remains under investigation. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been a factor in the incident.

–Officers from California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision at Southbound US-101, and Wellsona Road at approximately 12:59 p.m. Friday. The collision involved a GMC Envoy and a Ford F-450 Pickup pulling a 38 foot goose neck trailer.
The Ford F-450 and trailer combo was driving southbound US-101, north of Wellsona Road at an unknown speed. The GMC reportedly pulled out from Wellsona Road and crossed in front of the Ford F-450. The front of the Ford F-450 collided with the passenger side door of the GMC. The driver of the Ford F-450 was uninjured. The driver of the GMC was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital with major injuries, according to CHP.
Names or cities of residences of the drivers are not yet available, however, the driver of the GMC is confirmed to be a female.
No further information is available at this time.
