Glenn Burdette promotes employees
Glenn Burdette, a certified public accounting firm on the Central Coast, kicked off its 50th year in business by promoting 13 employees and announcing growth plans for 2015. The firm currently employs more than 60 people at offices in Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles. More than half of the staff members are certified professionals.

Glenn Burdette has been employee-owned since 2001, when it became the first CPA firm in California with an Employee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP).
ESOPs are innovative tools that enable employees to own and operate their own companies, and at Glenn Burdette, the ESOP has helped attract and retain top talent. “An ESOP means every employee is part of a team in a meaningful, decision-making way,” said O’Hare. “When employees literally take ownership of their work and the firm, the results are creative thinking and success,” he said.
In 2015, Glenn Burdette will be adding more staff in tax, audit and consulting. O’Hare says candidates should be Certified Public Accountants with two to six years of experience and ties to the local community.
Glenn Burdette employs 34 certified professionals and 61 total employees. As members of the American Institute of CPAs, Glenn Burdette undergoes a formal examination process, or peer review, to ensure quality and compliance. The firm has passed every peer review since its formation in 1965.
