–Paso Robles’ premier consignment shop, New with Tags, is a popular downtown shopping destination for locals and visitors. Racks of dresses, skirts, tops, jeans, boots, shoes, and bags with labels like Anthropologie, Free People, Eileen Fisher, Joie, Nightcap and more, including more than 200 high end designer jeans, are available for 50-percent to 70-percent off the original retail price.
Shop owner, Wendy Berti, brings more than 15 years experience to her shop.
“We are the only clothing consignment store in Paso Robles,” said owner Wendy Berti. “Regulars drop in all the time to see what’s new. We have a lot of visitors and they return to shop here when they are in town.”
Two years ago, Berti’s husband told her it was time for her to open her own store, so she did. Building on over 15 years experience in consignment, personal sales, buying and retail, Berti opened New with Tags at 585 12th Street. A shopper can get a complete head to toe outfit for a little as $60. Berti said, “One woman stopped in recently for an outfit for a special occasion. She got everything, shoes, a new purse, a dress, and jewelry for less than $300.”
Never worn designer brand shoes can sell for as much as one-third off the original price.
Berti says all of the consignment items are top quality. Inventory includes new, never worn items, and gently worn items no more than three years old. Berti pointed out a pair of new designer shoes that normally sell for close to $800. “These have never been worn and are selling for around one third of the cost,” said Berti.
The shop carries women’s clothes in sizes 0 to 14, shoes and boots in a range of sizes, purses, bags, scarves and jewelry. All the scarves and jewelry are new. New with Tags features Sweet Romance Jewelry, made in Los Angeles. The inventory comes from locals as well as from out of town. “It blows my mind when people from out of town want to sell here,” said Berti. “They come in to shop when they are visiting and like what they buy so much, they want to bring in their own items.”

Items that are accepted for consignment are on the floor for 90 days. The last 30 days the items are on sale and every month there is a new colored tag at 30-percent off. Unsold items the consignor no longer wants are donated to local community organizations. Consignors receive 40-percent of the selling price and have the option of cash or a store credit. New with Tags is open from 11 a.m. To 5 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. Call for an appointment before bringing consignment items.
