Paso Robles named “Best Wine Country Town”
Sunset Magazine with Annual Travel Awards excellence and innovation in the West’s tourism industry
Sunset Magazine has announced that Paso Robles has been named the 2016 Best Wine Country Town in the magazine’s annual Travel Awards. The region’s winemakers, restaurateurs and hoteliers are thrilled to be held in the highest regard among some of the West’s most recognized wine producing regions.
Paso Robles Wine Country, located along California’s famed Central Coast, is midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Established in 1983 with 17 wineries, Paso Robles currently has over 200 wineries and 40,000 vineyard acres. Paso’s welcoming accommodations range from full service hotels to quaint vineyard B&B’s. Delicious farm-to-table cuisine is abundant, complemented by the world-class wine produced throughout Paso Robles Wine Country.

The Sunset Travel Awards were introduced to honor excellence and innovation in the tourism industry across the 13 Western states, British Columbia, and Alberta. The Sunset Travel Awards focus the magazine’s 4.5 million readers to the West’s standout travel destinations, organizations, and businesses within 20 different categories. Winners of the 2016 Sunset Magazine Travel Awards are featured in the August 2016 edition of Sunset Magazine.
Paso Robles is proud to hold the honor as the 2016 Best Wine Country Town alongside its 2013 recognition as Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Wine Region of the Year.
