Pioneer Day activities planned at Pioneer Museum 

– The Pioneer Museum and adjacent Pioneer Park will be hosting a variety of activities for Pioneer Day this Saturday, Oct. 10. Pioneer_Museum-pioneer-park 2

After the parade and the bean feed, the public is invited to come to Pioneer Park to enjoy music from the Pineridge Blue Grass Band, or sample butter made from a washing machine on homemade bread.

This year, the museum has added a “Kids Zone,” where children can touch and play with many different artifacts. No – “Do not touch” signs in this area. Children can dress up, type on a typewriter, dial a rotary phone or sit in a saddle.

The California Barbed Wire Collectors Association will be there to appraise or answer any questions about old wire. There will also be wood carvers, spinners, and quilters. The wagons and tractors from the parade will be on display. There will be a barn dance in the Harvester Barn from 2 – 4 p.m., and the small engine show will be in Pioneer Park.
