Reward offered for locating David and Mary Weyrich

David and Mary Weyrich wantedAttorney offers $2500 for information leading to their location

–Reports of unpaid debts and failure to pay court judgments worth millions of dollars have resulted in a reward being offered for information about the whereabouts of David and Mary Weyrich. The Weyrichs began gaining public attention about seven years ago when local news media started reporting on complaints about the couple’s business and financial dealings. By 2010 more than $17 million worth of properties had been lost to foreclosure and public auction by lender Aegon. In 2009, San Luis Obispo businessmen Cliff Branch and Jim Smith won two judgments against the Weyrichs for two loans totaling approximately $1.8 million.

Attorney Christopher Lewi, representing Branch, has released a wanted poster for the Weyrichs, offering a $2500 reward for information leading to their whereabouts.

The wanted poster states:

The first person who can supply me with the physical location of Mr. and Mrs. Weyrich, resulting in successful legal service (in California) on each of them will be entitled to a payment of $2,500; in the event only one of the two judgment debtors is successfully served, the reward will be $1,250 for successful service on that judgment debtor.

Additionally, the poster states an offer of an additional 10 percent of the recorded value of assets, adjusted for recovery costs, for information leading to identification of assets owned by the Weyrichs upon which judgments can be lawfully enforced.

The Weyrichs early financial problems were covered locally by the Cal Coast News and The Tribune. According to the reports, the Weyrichs got their investment capital in 1998 from the sale of Martin Media, a company previously owned by Mary Weyrich’s father, Edward Martin. The $610 million from the sale was distributed among family members and investors. The Weyrichs invested millions of dollars into housing developments, wineries, hotels and other businesses. A San Luis Obispo County records search shows a number of liens and judgments against David Weyrich beginning in 2009.

Lewi verfied that the information in the wanted notice is correct and declined to make any futher comments.
