Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus will arrive in Paso Robles during the city’s annual Christmas Light Parade at 7 p.m. For many, visiting Santa is a Christmas time tradition. For Santa, it’s a time of mixed reviews from visitors of many ages — most are excited to share what he or she is wanting for Christmas, while others are unsure of the round, bearded man, even one bearing candy canes.

For those inclined to see Santa, there are many opportunities to visit with him this December:

Pass Robles Main Street Association’s Holiday House in Downtown City Park at the intersection of Park and 12th streets. Sunday, Dec. 7 and 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The week of Christmas, the merry gentleman will hold court at the Holiday House Sunday, Dec. 21 through Tuesday, Dec. 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 24 — Christmas Eve — from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The rosy-cheeked man will be at the annual Vine Street Victorian Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. between 8th and 21st streets in Paso Robles. In addition to Santa and Mrs. Claus, there will be bands, dancers, refreshments, The Grinch, the Snow King and Queen, choirs, caroling, illuminated floats, entertainers, community open houses, free refreshments and Ebenezer Scrooge. Paso Robles High School Marching Band will open the festivities. No dogs or cars allowed. For more information, call 805-238-4103.

The final Paso Robles event, not including the Holiday House in the park, that Santa will attend is the 24th annual Victorian Teddy Bear Tea in the Paso Robles Inn Park Ballroom, 1232 Park St. in Paso Robles, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20. Not only can attendees visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but also the Snow King and Queen, the elves and Victorian friends. The event features gingerbread cookie decorating, pictures to color and candy canes. Attendees should bring their Teddy bears for cookies and juice, music, storytelling and a door prize. Seating is limited and tickets may be pre-purchased tickets at the Paso Robles Main Street office, 835 12th St., Ste. D. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children.
