St. Rose girls volleyball team wins Coast Valley Prep League Championship 

The Saint Rose Catholic School Girls Volleyball team won the Coast Valley Prep League Championship Nov.8 over Cayucos Middle School 25-22 and 25-17. Saint Rose finished the 2013 volleyball season 12-2 overall and 8-0 in their league.

Coach Trevor Knable commended the girls saying “I want to congratulate all of the girls on a great season. I truly appreciate the leadership and the dedication from the eight 8th grade students on the team. They not only led by example, but also were my in game coaches.”

Looking to next year, Knable said “I’m excited with the prospects of having the eight 7th grader girls and ten 6th grader girls back next year and expect on serving up another challenge for the CVPL Girls Volleyball title.”

St. Rose Catholic School is a member of the seven school Coast Valley Prep League that includes the following:

  • Shandon Middle School
  • North County Christian School
  • Lillian Larsen School
  • Cayucos School
  • Coastal Christian School
  • Trinity Lutheran School

 

Sports opportunities that are offered to St. Rose Catholic School Students include:

  • Boys and girls basketball
  • Boys and girls volleyball
  • Boys and girls track and field

Students may participate in these athletic programs beginning in 6th grade for volleyball and basketball, and in 2nd grade for track and field. Student-athletes must not only represent themselves, but also their school and the communities of Paso Robles, San Miguel, Shandon, Creston, Templeton and Atascadero. St. Rose expects their student-athletes to conduct themselves in a way that is both positive and appropriate for our school. Athletes must learn to balance their challenging academic environment with team activities. They must plan accordingly and remember that their academic education comes first.
