Tudor Wines tasting room and wine bar opens in downtown Paso Robles

Experience wines from 2,000-year-old traditional winemaking techniques
–Local winemakers, Dan and Christian Tudor, have recently given wine enthusiasts a new place to taste in Downtown Paso Robles. The duo opened a tasting room for their wine label, the Tudor Tasting Room & Wine Bar. This is their second wine-tasting location in California. Tudor Wines opened their first tasting room in Carmel by the Sea several years ago.
“We are thrilled to be living in Paso Robles and providing a friendly place where locals and tourists can enjoy great wines and relax,” says winemaker and owner Dan Tudor. The Tudor family’s ancestors, originating from the Croatian island of Hvar, have been crafting quality wines for over 2,000 years. The family has been growing table grapes in California since the early 1900s including pinot noir, chardonnay and riesling varietals. The Tudor Wines label specializes in pinot noir, German ice-wines and grappa.
Tudor Wines produces approximately 5,000 cases per year and exports their wines around the world. Their 2011 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir received 90 points from Wine Spectator Magazine where they stated the pinot noir “splits the difference between rich, ripe flavors and a firm backbone, featuring a core of red and black fruit and dusty cedary tannins on the finish.” Only 506 cases of this pinot noir were produced.
Tudor Wines invites local residents and visitors to enjoy their Santa Lucia Highlands and Monterey grown wines in an elegant “old worldly” environment where you can taste quality wines and meet the winemaker, Dan Tudor and his wife, Bow Thai, who was born in Thailand. Bottles of Tudor Wines are available for sale ranging in price from $29 to $75 per bottle. Complementary espresso is offered after tasting for designated drivers and customers.
The Tudor Tasting Room & Wine Bar is open seven days a week from 1- 8 p.m. and is located in downtown Paso Robles at 1210 Park Street, in the Acorn Building.
