Video: Police seek help in identifying theft suspect

Police ask residents to view surveillance video and help identify suspect

On Wednesday, March 25, at approximately 6:10 a.m. the Paso Robles Police Department received a report of an attempted theft from a vehicle that had occurred earlier in the 1600 block of Leah Way in Paso Robles. The reporting party was a resident in the area who discovered the crime when he reviewed his home video surveillance footage from the overnight hours.

This video, https://youtu.be/Sb0eUeZRkk4,  showed the attempted theft occurred at approximately 3:06 a.m. The suspect can be seen looking into and attempting to enter several parked vehicles. The suspect is not able to enter any of the vehicles in the video, but two vehicles were broken into nearby in the 300 block of Susannah Lane during the same time frame.

The suspect appears to be a white male adult in his 20’s, wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt over a long sleeved white t-shirt. The suspect is clean-shaven and has a shaved head. The suspect appears to be wearing a glove on his right hand to conceal his identity.

Members of the community are encouraged to view this surveillance video and see if they recognize this suspect to assist the PRPD with this investigation.
