Two seats open on city’s Housing Authority board 

paso robles housing authorityThe City of Paso Robles is now accepting applications for appointment to fill two vacancies on the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners. One vacancy is an “at-large” opening, which may be filled by any resident living within the City of Paso Robles or within a 5 mile radius, and one vacancy must be filled by a senior citizen, 62 years or older, resident of Oak Park Public Housing. Appointments will be for 4-year terms expiring February 28, 2018.

The Housing Authority advises Public Housing Management and determines policy, procedures and direction of the Housing Authority. The Board of Commissioners meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Chet Dotter Senior Housing at 801 28th Street, Paso Robles, CA.

The Housing Authority of the City of Paso Robles operates Oak Park Public Housing, an apartment complex of lower income households, located on the east side of Park Street, between 28th and 34th Streets. Oak Park Public Housing is presently being redeveloped in phases. Phase One, which consist of 80 new apartment units is nearing completion. The Housing Authority is seeking financing for Phase Two, which will include 69 new apartment units. The Housing Authority is considered a local governmental agency that is separate from the City of Paso Robles. However, pursuant to State Law, the seven-member Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is appointed by the City Council.

Applicants are advised that all Commissioners are required to file annual Statements of Economic Interests (financial disclosure statements) and, under certain circumstances, there are restrictions on the actions of Commissioners.

Applications may be obtained at City Hall, 1000 Spring Street or at the Housing Authority – 3201 Pine Street. Applications may also be downloaded from the City’s web site at http://www.prcity.com/government/advisorybodies/index.asp.

Deadline for submitting applications is 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2014

The Housing Authority of the City of Paso Robles operates Oak Park Public Housing, a 148 unit apartment complex of lower income households, located on the east side of Park Street, between 28th and 34th Streets. The Housing Authority is considered a local governmental agency that is separate from the City of Paso Robles. However, pursuant to State Law, the seven-member Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is appointed by the City Council.
