This is why it’s always a good idea to keep a close eye on the monthly water bill, so if it slowly begins to creep up, one might consider contacting a professional to inspect for leaks.

Use a drain snake rather than unclogging chemicals

No matter what, clogs are inevitable. Rather than using convenient unclogging chemicals, it’s best to use a drain snake to unclog those drains, as most people don’t realize that these chemicals slowly eat away at their pipes. Drain snakes are relatively cheap, and it’s always handy to have one lying around.

Never pour grease down the sink

It’s generally well-known that grease is not good for drains and pipes, as it can cause serious buildup and damage. Sometimes people may try using detergent to break the grease up, but there’s no real guarantee that it’ll prevent the grease from clinging to pipes, so it’s generally best just to pour r grease into an empty tin can and toss it in the trash.
