slo sheriff newsDeputies will remain at the school all day as a security presence

–On Monday, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 9-1-1 call from what appeared to be an adult male. The caller reportedly made a verbal threat against Los Osos Middle School in Los Osos and then hung up.

The sheriff’s office began an immediate investigation. Detectives contacted school officials so they could notify staff, students and parents.

The threat was assessed and appropriate resources responded to the school campus and the surrounding area this morning. Out of an abundance of caution, deputies will remain at the school all day as a security presence. The investigation determined the threat was generalized and was not directed in any way to a specific individual.

Anyone who may have information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Division at (805) 781-4500.

    The investigation is continuing.
