Single-vehicle collision leaves car disabled on railroad tracks, driver injured
–Early Saturday morning in Paso Robles, a single-vehicle traffic collision with injuries was reported on the railroad tracks by Highway 101 Northbound near the South Spring Street Exit.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:48 a.m. Saturday. The driver appears to have rolled down a steep embankment and onto the railroad tracks. The man was rescued from the car and transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He told his rescuers that he spend the night in the car waiting for help, but was unable to call anyone. It took multiple firemen to transport the injured party out on a stretcher.
A tow truck removed the vehicle from the railroad tracks. Fortunately, no train came through Paso Robles late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
No information in regards to the cause of the accident or the extent of the injuries is available at this time.
