Tips to Keep Your Wedding Safe Amidst COVID-19

California is continuously administering vaccines against COVID-19, and with its decreasing transmission rate, its economy has fully reopened. It includes businesses in the wedding industry, such as jewelers in Paso Robles. The state lifted its strict restrictions like social distancing and business limit capacity. If you pushed your wedding to a later date because of the pandemic, you can now finally go through with it.
While the restrictions in the state may have relaxed, it doesn’t mean that the risk of the virus is no longer there. Even fully vaccinated individuals can still get infected, although the symptoms may be minimal. That said, it’s recommended that you still consider safety measures when planning your wedding. Here are some safety tips to apply on your big day.
Request everyone to wear a mask
Ask guests to wear a mask when they attend your wedding. The state still requires everyone to wear a mask when traveling. Since they have it with them when they travel to your wedding venue, better yet, wear it during the entire event, except, of course, when eating. Not all attendees may be vaccinated, so to make it safe for everyone, practice at least the minimum safety protocol of wearing a mask. You can also give masks as your wedding favors.
Keep the number of wedding guests small
There are now no restrictions on the number of guests allowed in private events, except for mega-events that include at least 10,000 people for outdoor events and at least 5,000 people for indoor events. These huge events will require proof of vaccination or negative results from attendees. Since your wedding will not be a mega event, you don’t have to worry about those requirements. However, it’s best to keep the number of your guests small for the safety of everyone. The more people in an event, the higher the risk of transmission. Even if the state no longer restricts it, it’s still best to adapt this safety measure.
Have the wedding outdoor
Indoor gatherings pose a higher risk than outdoor events. It’s said to be around 18 times higher than the latter. There is better ventilation and air circulation outside, which lowers the risk of transmitting the virus. Plus, you will have more space for the wedding.
Keep tables distanced adequately from each other
Properly plan where your guests will sit. Put together family members from the same household, since they live with each other anyway. Maintain proper distance between each table, allowing people to have a conversation without being too near each other.
Have alcohol or hand sanitizers ready on each table
Place sanitizers or alcohol on each table, so guests can keep their hands clean before and after the reception. Like the masks, you may also distribute handy bottles of hand sanitizer or alcohol to guests as wedding favors.
Label drinking glasses
You don’t want guests sharing glasses since that is a recipe for virus transmission. It may take a bit of effort, but label each guest’s glass to ensure that they only use theirs. Avoid buffet too, and serve individual servings of meals instead to avoid sharing of utensils.
You and your partner can finally tie the knot amidst the pandemic. Be sure to keep these safety protocols in mind to have a happy and safe wedding.
