Motorhome plunges off Hwy 1 cliff

Cal Fire firefighters responded to a motorhome over the side of Highway 1 about a half-mile south of Ragged Point on Sunday afternoon. The call came in at 2:45 p.m.

“Motorhome is 600 feet down the cliff. High angle rescue underway,” the crews reported on Twitter. “Rescue operation at Ragged Point will be an extended operation.”

By 8 p.m. one deceased person has been located at the crash scene. Emergency responders remained at scene about two more hours conducting a secondary search for victims.
