Learn to pickle green beans at the Paso Robles City Library
Two class times will be offered July 13
– The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Food Preservers of SLO/Santa Barbara Counties will offer a food preservation class on pickled dill green beans at the Paso Robles Library Conference Room on Saturday, July 13. The class will be held in two sessions, from 10 to 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Registration for the class is open from June 21 to July 3. Each attendee must register, and the class is open to individuals aged 16 and older.
Participants will learn how to make pickled dill green beans, similar to dill pickles made from cucumbers. The process includes cutting and trimming green beans, making a brine, and filling canning jars with spices, peppers, and/or dill. The beans will then be preserved using atmospheric steam canning. Recipe cards will be provided.
The class size is limited, and the same class will be held twice to accommodate more participants. Registration opens June 21 at https://www.prcity.com/246/Classes-Events.
