Paso Robles Youth Arts Center receives $50,000 grant for culinary kitchen
Popularity of culinary arts classes for youth has driven the need for a full kitchen remodel
– The Paso Robles Youth Arts Center has received a $50,000 grant from Justin Vineyards and Winery’s Community Grant program to support the renovation of its kitchen into the Justin Culinary Arts Teaching Kitchen. The updated kitchen aims to provide an optimized learning environment, enhance student safety, and maximize teaching opportunities.
The popularity of culinary arts classes for youth has driven the need for a full kitchen remodel. The renovation will allow for more classes to be offered, eliminate waitlists, and enable more students to benefit from culinary arts education. The program teaches youth basic cooking skills, how to use common ingredients to create extraordinary dishes, and provides nourishing, student-created meals during each class session.
“Our classes spark passion in local youth: providing creative enrichment, improved mental health, and a pathway to living-wage careers,” said Paso RObles Youth Arts Center Executive Director Barby Wunsch. “Culinary arts provides students with essential skills that can help support a better quality of life for themselves and their families. We are so grateful to Justin Vineyards and Winery for their generous support of this project,”
The new Justin culinary arts teaching kitchen is scheduled for completion in May 2025.
