Family seeks help after baby burned by fireworks in Paso Robles
– A North County family is asking for help after an 11-month-old girl was badly burned by Fourth of July fireworks in Paso Robles. Yocelyne Espinoza created a GoFundMe on behalf of her niece, Emma, who is currently receiving care for serious burns at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
On the Fourth of July, fireworks launched into the infant’s car seat, according to the GoFundMe. The car seat had the sun cover up, preventing the firework from escaping. The fireworks burned Emma’s entire right arm, leg, and part of her cheek.
The goal of the fundraiser is $12,000. As of Wednesday morning, it had raised more than $6,700.
Espinoza wrote on the GoFundMe page: “On 4th of July, my 11-month-old Emma suffered serious burns from a firework. The firework launched right into her car seat. The car seat sun cover was up and the firework had no escape. Burned her whole right arm, leg, and part of her cheek. Currently we are at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA. We are seeking help for medical expenses, gas, and stay. Anything helps! Thank you!!”
