One dead in Morro Bay house fire
– Early Saturday morning, at approximately 12:20 am, The Morro Bay Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 500 block of Kings Avenue.
There was one confirmed fatality, and the victim’s identity is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin, according to a news release from Fire Chief Daniel McCrain of the City of Morro Bay Fire Department.
Several local agencies were called to the incident, including CalFire San Luis Obispo County, San Luis Obispo City Fire, California Men’s Colony Fire, San Luis Ambulance, Morro Bay Police Department, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Morro Bay Fire Department in partnership with the San Luis Obispo Fire Investigation Strike Team (SLOFIST).
