    Bank of the Sierra awards $150,000 in second quarter grants

    Bank of the Sierra donated $150,000 to nonprofit organizations in its communities through its Sierra Grant Program during the second quarter of 2024. Since the program’s inception in 2004, the bank has awarded more than 1,700 grants.

    From March through June, the bank awarded a total of $92,500 in grants to 16 Central Valley nonprofits, $32,500 to six nonprofits in the bank’s Coastal and Southern California footprint, and $25,000 to nonprofits that offer services in both regions.

    Nonprofit organizations that received a Sierra Grant in the second quarter include:

    • In San Luis Obispo County: CAPSLO (Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo) and REACH.
    • In Fresno County: Bridge2College, Centers for Living, Fresno Metro Black Chamber Foundation, National Impact Mentoring & Training Program, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
    • In Kern County: Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County and California Farmworker Foundation.
    • In Kings County: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kings County and Refuge Armona.
    • In Tulare County: ASIAN, Inc., Parenting Network, St. Anne’s Food Pantry, Tulare County Economic Development Corporation, Tulare County Farm Bureau Educational and Scholarship Fund Trust, Tulare Downtown Foundation, and Visalia Emergency Aid Council / Food Pantry.
    • In Ventura County: Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation, Fillmore District Safe Graduation, House Farm Workers!, and Ojai Community Farmers Market.
    • In multiple counties: American Red Cross.

     

    “The Sierra Grant Program is one of the primary ways our bank is able to help organizations that assist our communities,” said McPhaill, Bank of the Sierra president and chief executive officer. “Making a difference in every community we serve has been the bank’s goal since we started more than four decades ago.”

    There is a Bank of the Sierra located at 1207 Spring St. in Paso Robles.
