‘Build-a-Thon’ STEAM camp for kids kicks off Aug. 5
Camp is open to children aged 6 to 12 and focuses on science and engineering
– The STEAMworks Build-A-Thon Camp will take place from Aug. 5 to Aug. 9 in the Centennial Live Oak Room. The camp is open to children aged 6 to 12 and focuses on science and engineering.
Participants will learn the basics of the Engineering Design Process using their own building kits, which they will keep at the end of the week. Each day, campers will use build kits to create new constructions and will have the opportunity to dismantle their creations. They will also learn to use basic tools safely while constructing with cardboard and other materials to invent and make their own designs.
Parents are asked to send their children with a peanut-free snack and a water bottle, and to dress them in weather-appropriate clothing.
Youth scholarships are available.
