    Production of Cinderella comes to Park Ballroom this month

    – Wine Country Theatre will stage Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” at the Park Ballroom, featuring a cast of 40 performers. The production, which includes music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and a new book by Douglas Carter Beane, is directed by Jacob Shearer.

    “I am thrilled to collaborate with our talented community of artists to bring to life the story of a woman empowered by kindness,” said Shearer, “Through her journey, we aim to transform apathy into sympathy, and inspire our audience. I look forward to the magic we will create together on the Park Ballroom stage.”

    Grace Anthony stars as Cinderella, with Jon Estes as Prince Topher. Kate Hofstetter plays the politically ambitious Prime Minister who manipulates the prince, while Cynthia Anthony portrays Madame, the vain stepmother. Ainsley De Costor and Brianna Pacheco play the stepsisters. Jim Brescia takes on the role of Lord Pinkleton, proclaiming, “The prince is having a Ball!” Tom Villa portrays Jean-Michele, an idealistic peasant seeking to revolutionize the kingdom, and Veronica Surber is the Fairy Godmother, Marie. The ensemble includes 25 additional actors as townspeople, dancers, knights, and Lords and Ladies of the Court.

    Behind the scenes, a crew of 20 individuals handles technical aspects, set and costume design, and other essential roles to bring the production to life. The show is a collaborative effort involving community members of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

    Performance dates:

    • Aug. 16 – 31,  – 7:30 p.m.
    • Aug. 18, 25, and Sept. 1 – 2 p.m. matinees
