Cuesta College fall semester begins Monday
– The fall semester at Cuesta College begins Aug. 12. Students can view the full list of classes on the class finder and register for courses at bit.ly/cuestaregistration until Aug. 25 with instructor approval.
“At Cuesta College, we’re committed to guiding and supporting you on your journey, pursuing transfer to a university or elevating your career,” said Superintendent/President Dr. Jill Stearns.
The fall term ends on Dec. 13. Cuesta College also offers less-than-full-term courses ranging from three to 17 weeks. Course fees for credit classes are $46 per unit, while noncredit courses are free. Recent local high school graduates can attend fee-free for two years through the Cuesta College Promise Scholarship.
Areas of study
Cuesta College offers a variety of comprehensive degrees and certificates across several areas of study, including Business, Agriculture, Hospitality, Legal, Creative Arts, Humanities, Communication, Education, Information, Health, Wellness, Skilled Trades, Technology, Social, Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), English as a Second Language, and Adult Education.
Campus locations
Cuesta College provides courses at three locations throughout San Luis Obispo County: the San Luis Obispo campus, the North County campus in Paso Robles, and the South County Center at Arroyo Grande High School. Classes are also available online, and local high school students can participate in the College and Career Access Pathways Program.
South County Center reopens
For the first time since the pandemic, the South County Center at Arroyo Grande High School is offering in-person classes, including courses in Ethnic Studies and Statistics. Additionally, free noncredit courses in English as a Second Language and the Emeritus College (enrichment courses for older adults) are available.
Fast Track registration days
Prospective students can take advantage of Fast Track Registration Days on Aug. 10 at the San Luis Obispo campus and Aug. 17 at the North County campus. These one-day sessions provide academic counseling, financial aid, online orientation, class registration, and more. Walk-in registration is available, but participants are encouraged to register online.
Connect@Cuesta events
New students are invited to attend Connect@Cuesta, a free event designed to help integrate them into the Cuesta College community. Events will be held on Aug. 29 at the San Luis Obispo campus and Aug. 31 at the North County campus from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will learn how to navigate the campuses, access resources, and connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff. Food trucks and vending machines
Starting this semester, food trucks will be available in the 3100 Courtyard at the San Luis Obispo campus Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The schedule includes SLO Dog on Mondays, Leslie’s Taqueria on Tuesdays, and Central Coast Pizza Trolley on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Cali Cup’s coffee cart will offer hot and cold beverages, freshly baked goods, and acai bowls on the San Luis Obispo campus Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vending machines throughout the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses will also be regularly restocked with drinks, snacks, and hot and cold food options.
Student support
Cuesta College has launched Cuesta Connect, a new platform for scheduling appointments and virtual drop-ins. Available services include academic counseling, admissions, student records, registration, basic needs, CalWORKs, disability support programs, extended opportunity programs, financial aid, the foster youth program, international student program, library and learning resources, Monarch Dream Center, student health services, student life and leadership, student support and resolution, student technology support, tutoring, academic support, and veteran services.
