Paso Robles fires believed to be suspicious in nature, officials investigate

Three fires contained Tuesday, two within close proximity of each other

    – In the past 24 hours, several small fires ignited in Paso Robles, with two occurring within 200 yards of each other near Spring Street and 24th Street on Tuesday morning.

The first fire was reported at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and 24th Street at 11:15 a.m. The second fire was located north of Rite Aid.

Firefighters halted the forward progress of both fires by 11:26 a.m.

A third fire occurred in the riverbed, burning about a quarter acre.

Authorities have deemed the fires suspicious due to their close proximity. The incidents remain under investigation.
