Owners plan to develop the property over the next decade, adding a vineyard, winery, and tasting room

Benom Wines, founded by sixth-generation French winemakers Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre, has acquired a 60-acre property in the York Mountain AVA of Paso Robles. The estate, previously used as a residence and for cattle farming, has never been planted with vineyards. The Fabres plan to develop the property over the next decade, adding a vineyard, winery, and tasting room.

The estate includes 25 plantable acres, with 20 acres planted with rootstock in the summer of 2024. The property features clay and limestone soil, which is well-suited for Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. The Fabres plan to continue producing their current red and white blends and expand their offerings.Fabres plan to develop the property over the next decade, adding a vineyard, winery, and tasting room

“Acquiring our own property feels like a dream come true, especially after nearly a decade since crafting our first vintage,” the Fabres said. “This new chapter is not just a milestone; it’s an opportunity to elevate our passion for farming and provide a base for future operational building development.”

The Fabres will continue to source grapes from existing partners in Adelaida, Willow Creek, and Edna Valley District but plan to plant cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, grenache, syrah, and sauvignon blanc on the new estate.

The current Benom tasting room in Tin City remains open for appointments as vineyard development and tasting room construction begin.
