– Michael Vincent Romelfanger of Creston, Calif., went to greener pastures on the morning of Aug. 20, 2024. Mike was born June 15, 1949, in San Francisco and spent the majority of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area running a wholesale floral business. On Aug. 22, 1980, Mike and Hilde got married in her hometown of Naerbo, Norway. Back in Silicon Valley, they then went on to welcome their daughter (Annika) in 1987 and son (Erik) in 1991. In Mike’s eyes, his greatest accomplishment was the family he created and he beamed with pride. He was committed to his children’s extracurriculars throughout their adolescence; from coaching on the soccer field to cheering from outside the horse jumper ring. There was no greater cheerleader.
In 2010, Mike fulfilled another lifelong dream of owning his own ranch and getting back to his roots. His retirement days were filled with dogs, horses, golf, and “work” on the ranch and his need to be busy kept his mind young. Mike’s legacy will live on through his family and his time spent serving the small community he lived in. He will be remembered for the warmth and support he showed every friend and stranger alike.
Mike is survived by his wife Hilde, daughter Annika (Cory), son Erik (Amory), and grandsons Landon and Rhett. He is preceded in death by his siblings Jerry & Joan, and granddaughter Brooke. A Celebration of life will be held on Oct. 20 in Creston, CA.
