The Haunt in Atascadero celebrates 10 years with new attraction
Haunted house reveals new ‘Dr. Frankenstein’s Monsters’ experience
– The Haunt in Atascadero will celebrate its 10th anniversary this Halloween season with a new attraction, “Dr. Frankenstein’s Monsters,” opening Sept. 27. The Haunt, which has become a fixture in the community, is introducing this latest experience to commemorate a decade of delivering Halloween thrills.
“Dr. Frankenstein’s Monsters” delves into the darker side of the infamous scientist’s work, exploring the untold stories of Dr. Frankenstein’s lesser-known but equally terrifying experiments. Guests will navigate through the secretive corridors of Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory, encountering remnants of his other creations.
“The lore of Frankenstein is vast, but the focus has always been on the one creature,” said Chris Towers, executive director and lead production engineer at The Haunt in Atascadero. “We wanted to expand the narrative to showcase a darker yet untold chapter of Dr. Frankenstein’s work. These creations embody his unchecked ambition and the eerie consequences.”
The Haunt in Atascadero is known for its immersive arts and education-focused approach, bringing together volunteer artists, designers, and storytellers to create unforgettable Halloween experiences. Volunteers range in age from 16 to 73, highlighting the inclusive nature of the community project.
The anniversary season will feature state-of-the-art special effects, skilled actors, and detailed set designs. “Dr. Frankenstein’s Monsters” will be open every Friday and Saturday from Sept. 27 through Nov. 2, with additional dates on select Sundays and Halloween. More information and tickets are available online at The Haunt in Atascadero.
