Wine trail donation boosts Paso Robles Rotary scholarships
Donation is the result of the annual ‘Under the Estrella Sky Winemaker Dinner’
– The Paso Robles Sunrise Rotary received a $20,000 donation from the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail on Sept. 11 for the club’s scholarship fund. The donation is the result of the annual “Under the Estrella Sky Winemaker Dinner,” held on the third Saturday of August at Hartley Farms.
The Pleasant Valley Wine Trail is a group of wineries and family farms located along a 12-mile trail in San Miguel. The group has partnered with the Paso Robles Sunrise Rotary to help expand the club’s scholarship offerings to local students. The scholarships are focused on students majoring in agricultural, viticulture, and other science-related fields, as well as students pursuing vocational training.
In addition to the wine trail partnership, Sunrise Rotary raises funds through a drive-through tri-tip barbecue held twice a year. The next barbecue is scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Paso Robles Ford parking lot, with tickets going on sale soon.
The Sunrise Rotary meets every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at the Culinary Arts Academy, located at 1900 Golden Hill Road in Paso Robles. The meetings offer opportunities for fellowship, networking, and community service. New members are welcome, and guests are encouraged to attend.
