Winifred Pifer PTA earns ‘National School of Excellence’ honor
– The Winifred Pifer Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) has been designated a 2023-2025 National PTA School of Excellence for its efforts to create an environment where families feel welcomed, included, and empowered to support their children’s success, according to a press release. The designation also recognizes that students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
A total of 319 PTAs and schools nationwide earned the designation for building strong partnerships between families and their schools that enhance both the educational experience and overall well-being of students.
“Increasing parental engagement was a major focus of ours for the 2023-2024 school year, and we are honored to be the recipient of this special designation, recognizing our efforts,” said Tracy Dauterman, president of the Winifred Pifer PTA. “It’s a strong belief of mine, and the rest of our PTA families, that student success and well-being are linked to having engaged parents and guardians who make an effort to be involved and knowledgeable about their child’s education. Over the past year, we’ve made great strides in creating a positive and welcoming school culture and strengthening the sense of community felt by our Pifer families.”
The National PTA’s School of Excellence program encourages PTAs and schools to commit to strengthening family-school partnerships over the course of a year. Throughout this period, PTAs and schools collect feedback from their communities and develop plans of action to improve family engagement, guided by PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.
