SLO County Airport will resume daily direct flights to Las Vegas
– San Luis Obispo County Airport has reported continued growth in passenger numbers for 2024, reflecting increased demand for air travel. Passenger traffic surged by 13.2% compared to the same period in 2023, with a 15.2% rise in the third quarter alone compared to Q3 2023.
The airport attributes this increase to the community’s growing interest in air travel and its efforts to expand services.
In addition to passenger growth, the airport will resume daily direct flights to Las Vegas through Alaska Airlines starting on Oct. 27. The service will run seasonally until April 25, 2025, offering non-stop travel to one of the most popular destinations in the U.S. The route is expected to benefit both leisure travelers and those on business trips.
Courtney Johnson, director of airports, expressed excitement about the airport’s recent developments. “The increase in passenger numbers and the return of direct service to Las Vegas reflect the growing demand for air travel in our region,” Johnson said. “We’re committed to addressing that demand by offering more convenient and efficient travel options.”
