Paso Robles Senior Center celebrates Halloween with party
Event brought together 50 attendees in festive costumes
– The Paso Robles Senior Center hosted a Halloween celebration on Oct. 29, bringing together more than 50 attendees in festive costumes. Participants dressed as witches, pirates, the Queen of Hearts, Little Red Riding Hood, and other characters.
The center provided pizza and salad, and Annette Agee baked individual bundt cakes for each guest. Entertainment was performed by Cali Coast Duo, featuring Yvette Bridges and Chris Tso, who can be reached at calicoastduo@gmail.com.
Maxi Passenger, one of the attendees, commented, “Events like these get us older adults out socializing and the music was a great addition.”
Elaine Ernst, the senior center’s coordinator, highlighted the importance of hosting activities for the older adult community. “Older adults, age 60+, make up the largest population group in the North County,” Ernst said. “The Paso Robles Senior Center serves as both an activity center and resource center for these adults and their families. Last month we had over 2,000 visits.”
Several upcoming holiday events are planned at the center, including the “All That Glitters II” jewelry sale fundraiser, running from Nov. 18 through Nov. 22. Peter Lucier from Central Coast Hearing Aids will offer free hearing aid cleanings on Friday, Nov. 15, beginning at 9 a.m.
On Nov. 14 at 10 a.m., Paige Anderson will host a Public Transportation Information Pop-Up. Central Coast Physicians Network will hold a “Holiday Craft and Coffee” event on Wednesday, Nov. 13. December’s events will feature the “Annual Holiday Party and Potluck.”
