One lane in each direction on Highway 1 will remain open to allow for public travel
– The No. 2 lanes in both directions of Highway 1 will be closed between Highway 41/Highway 1 in Morro Bay and North Ocean Avenue in Cayucos on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. to accommodate the 13th annual Morro Bay Triathlon. The closures will also include the right shoulder on Highway 1 from North Ocean Avenue to the turnaround point at Sea West Road.
During the event, one lane in each direction on Highway 1 will remain open to allow for public travel, and flaggers and message signs will alert drivers to the lane closures. These measures aim to allow bicyclists to safely participate in the event.
Short delays are expected at intersections along Highway 1, including Atascadero Road, San Jacinto Street, Yerba Buena Street, Old Creek Road, and Sea West Drive. Travelers are urged to drive slowly and carefully in the area to ensure safety for all, including highway workers.
