The Nutcracker: Classic holiday tradition returns to the Spanos Theater with local dancers

The Nutcracker, A Storybook Ballet, will have three performances in December.
North County Nutcracker celebrates 28 years of storytelling and community spirit with performances from Dec. 6-8
– This December, the North County Dance & Performing Arts Foundation will present the 28th annual production of The North County Nutcracker: A Storybook Ballet. Performances will be at the Cal Poly Spanos Theater from Dec. 6 to Dec. 8.
“The North County Nutcracker, A Storybook Ballet, is more than just a beloved holiday tradition; it’s a creative experience that brings our community together. This cherished production by the foundation unites dancers from six years old up to 70 years plus.
From the youngest performers to North County’s most seasoned artists, it’s a celebration of talent, dedication, and artistry. This production offers families and friends a special opportunity to make memories together and show their support for local arts,” said Class Act Dance and Performing Arts Studio communication coordinator Alyna Gibson.

The production is directed by Cheryle Armstrong and Rachel Connerton, along with assistant director Kristen McLaughlin, and choreographed by Theresa Comstock and Kim Eaton.
In addition, the performance will include professional guest artists Oscar Gutierrez, Sam Fulk and Connor Simone, and alumni Kailey Ardouin, Haruka Nishimura, and Kyah Jimeson.
“Their creative contributions ensure that each performance is unique and magical. We are also excited to share that our production has been elevated by the leadership of our new NCDPAF president, Tristen Jones, whose vision and dedication have truly brought this production to life,” Gibson said.
Performances will be held on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., and Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. Tickets range from $32 to $68.
