New restaurant opens at River Oaks Golf Course

Spirit of Paso Robles opened on Nov. 11
– The Spirit of Paso Robles, located at the River Oaks Golf Course, opened for business on Nov. 11. It is owned by Mike and Ellen Stanton, who also own the sister restaurant, Spirit of San Luis.
“Spirit is a scratch made restaurant, making all of our own soups, dressings, salsas, [and more], and we smoke meats in house for several of our dishes,” said Mike Stanton, who has been in the local hospitality and restaurant industry for around 40 years. He added that “We are simple food, done well.”

Some popular breakfast items on the menu include biscuits and gravy, chili verde omelette, brisket breakfast tacos, and coffee cake. Lunch options include fish and chips, grilled prawn cobb salad, onion rings, and cowboy cuban sandwich.
Dinner service will start on Nov. 25.

One Yelp review from Randy B. notes a “huge menu filled with breakfast, burgers, seafood, pastas, salads, BBQ, pastrami [and] deli and other sandwiches. If you can’t find something here, there’s something wrong with you. Wonderful service even on the hectic first day. Seasoned veterans running and working it.”

“We accept reservations for all meal periods. We have a full bar, are family friendly and allow dogs on our patio,” Stanton said.
Spirit of Paso Robles is located at 700 Clubhouse Drive. Opening hours are Monday and Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
