‘It’s the Journey,’ exhibit opens Jan. 7, art can be submitted online through Jan. 6
– The Cambria Center for the Arts will present “It’s the Journey,” an exhibit featuring the work of artist George Scribner alongside several local artists. The exhibit opens Jan. 7 and runs through Feb. 23.
Scribner, a painter, animator, and filmmaker, is known for his loose, painterly style that captures both urban and natural landscapes. His work emphasizes rich color and a keen attention to shadow and light. The exhibit explores the journey of the artist in pursuit of excellence, with an emphasis on the pauses during which artists attempt to capture specific moments in time.
The Visual Arts Committee of the Cambria Center for the Arts invites artists to submit their 2- and 3-dimensional works for consideration in the exhibit. Artists may submit up to four pieces each, gallery space permitting. All work that meets the specified guidelines will be accepted. However, because of limited space, pieces that cannot be accommodated in person will be posted to the virtual gallery.
Art can be submitted online from Dec. 30 through Jan. 6, with in-person delivery on Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon.
An artist’s reception will be held on Jan. 11 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. The event is free to the public and will feature entertainment, appetizers, and wine for purchase.
The exhibit will be open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Cambria Center for the Arts, located at 1350 Main St., Cambria.
