– This week’s Adoptable Pet of the Week is Madison, from Novy’s Ark Dog Rescue and Adoption.
Madison, a rescue dog with a remarkable story, is ready to find her forever home. She was rescued after spending months living in a field near an elementary school in Bakersfield. Despite efforts by a local group, she remained elusive for three months and, sadly, lost a litter of puppies during that time.
After her capture, Madison arrived at the shelter fearful and avoided human interaction for two months. Over time, she warmed up to her caretakers, eventually seeking affection and forming strong bonds.
Madison is friendly with dogs of all sizes, walks well on a leash, and rarely barks. She is one year old and about 28 pounds. She is a mixed breed and is totally housebroken.
She has become a favorite at the rescue but is ready for a home where she can be spoiled.
