Obituary of Mary Ann Brigham, 94

    Mary Ann Brigham.

    Dec. 14, 1930-Dec. 24, 2024

    – Mary Ann Brigham, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and educator passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 10 days after her 94th birthday.

Mary Ann will be remembered for living a life well lived leaving a legacy of love and acceptance. She was the perfect combination of strength and compassion.

Mary Ann was born in Fresno on Dec. 14, 1930. She attended Fresno State College where she met and married Robert (Bob) Brigham. They settled in Manhattan Beach where they raised three children, Leslie, Matt, and Allison. Mary Ann was a volunteer in classrooms and scouts and was an active member of Sandpipers.

She earned her teaching credential from Long Beach State in 1964 and began a successful teaching career as a well-loved kindergarten teacher at Pennekamp Elementary School. Mary Ann and Bob enjoyed a full life and were integral members of their community with involvement in Manhattan Beach Community Church, Fair Housing Coalition, Manhattan Beach Democratic Club, and Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. She was president of the Manhattan Beach City Schools Teacher Association.

She and Bob moved to the Traditions Community in Paso Robles in 2006, where she enjoyed making new friends and being a member of the Helping Hands Committee.

Mary Ann was a member of both Delta Kappa Gamma and P.E.O. for over 50 years. She transferred to P.E.O. Chapter HL when she moved to Paso Robles, and she cherished her time with her HL sisters.

Mary Ann’s greatest pride was her family. She will be remembered by her children, Leslie Brigham Moss and husband Rick of Paso Robles, Matt Brigham and husband Juan Gonzalez of Long Beach, and Allison Finkle and husband Peter of Chico. She was Grandma to Whitney Moss, (Ryan Currier), Emily Moss, Jacob Moss (Leah), Spencer Finkle (Katie) and Great Grandma (GG) to Julian, Scarlett, Jaxon, Laurel, Landon, Laila, and Maren.

Her family is grateful for the loving and compassionate care she received from the caregivers of Harvest Home Senior Living and Central Coast Hospice.

There are no services planned at this time.

If you are inclined to make a donation in Mary Ann’s honor, the family suggests P.E.O. Scholarships.

Please make your check payable to P.E.O. Foundation, with Chapter HL – Kiper Twist Fund in the memo line and mail your check to: P.E.O. Chapter HL – Paso Robles, P.O. Box 1054 Paso Robles, CA 93447.
