Library to screen Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Cinema Club meets on the fourth Friday of each month to feature a film screening, discussion, and snacks
– The Paso Robles City Library will host a screening of Stephen Spielberg’s sci-fi adventure, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, on Friday, Jan. 31, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place in the library’s conference room.
The 1977 film, rated PG and running 2 hours and 18 minutes, follows Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) as his life changes after witnessing an unidentified flying object. Refusing to accept alternative explanations, Neary becomes determined to contact alien intelligence.
The event is part of the library’s monthly Cinema Club, which meets on the fourth Friday of each month to feature a film screening, discussion, and snacks. This month’s selection honors National Science Fiction Day, celebrated on Jan. 2.
The event is free and open to adults. Registration is required.
