Grant will enable Hambly Farms to implement extensive plantings and habitat installations throughout 2025 and 2026
– Hambly Farms has been awarded a sustainability grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture as part of its Pollinator Habitat Program. The program partners with farmers and ranchers to install habitats and adopt management practices that support pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
“This grant underscores our dedication to sustainability,” said Gina Hambly of Hambly Farms. “By enhancing our farm with pollinator-friendly habitats, we aim to create a thriving environment for these essential species while supporting our lavender cultivation efforts.”
The grant will enable Hambly Farms to implement extensive plantings and habitat installations throughout 2025 and 2026. The farm will use floral resources, host plants, and other suitable habitats to promote pollinator health and ecological balance. Pollinators play a critical role in agriculture and the environment.
Visitors to Hambly Farms this summer will have the chance to observe these new additions and learn about the importance of pollinators in agriculture. The farm is scheduled to open for the season on May 11. Guests are invited to experience its lavender fields and explore the farm’s sustainability efforts.
