Fire crews respond to smoke at Paso Robles junior high

All classes resumed after source of smoke determined to be HVAC unit

Paso Robles Emergency Services responded to Lewis Flamson Junior High School at 2405 Spring St. on Friday morning after a report of smoke in the girls’ locker room.

Students were evacuated from the school as fire crews arrived and entered the locker room, where they found light smoke. The fire department upgraded the call to a full-structure fire response.

Further investigation revealed that the smoke was caused by an HVAC unit.

All students were reported safe and accounted for, and classes resumed as normal.
