City upgrades South River Road with pedestrian safety features
New system features bright, rapidly flashing lights that activate when a pedestrian is present
– The City of Paso Robles has completed a project to enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety at the intersection of South River Road and Serenade. The project includes the installation of a rectangular rapid-flashing beacon system, designed to improve visibility and crossing efficiency for pedestrians and cyclists.
The new system features bright, rapidly flashing lights that activate when a pedestrian is present, increasing driver awareness at the crossing. Additional improvements at the intersection include refreshed lane buffers to enhance safety, modifications to the bike lane at the south end of the project area to improve cyclist accessibility, and tree trimming to ensure clear visibility of the westernmost beacon.
The city stated that these upgrades reflect its commitment to improving transportation safety and accessibility for residents and visitors.

That is wonderful news. I think there needs to be the same thing done on Creston Rd near Stoney Creek. I drive that several times a day and often find drivers do not stop for people that need to cross the street near that shopping complex. I think in the past I was told to start a petition?
