    James Derrick “Jimmy” Robinson (1963–2025)

    – James Derrick “Jimmy” Robinson, a lifelong resident of Paso Robles, passed away on Jan. 23, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on October 20, 1963, in Santa Barbara, CA, he was raised by his mother, Carmelita Ortega, and later by his stepfather, Marcus G. Elisarraras, who became a guiding presence in his life.

Jimmy was known for his unwavering loyalty, strong spirit, and love for his family and friends. A talented boxer in his youth, he remained undefeated throughout his four-year career. He later discovered a passion for music, earning the nickname “Jimmy the Rapper” in the 1980s for his quick-witted rhymes at local performances. Above all, he was a devoted father to his children, Jesse and Tanya, and a proud grandfather.

An avid fisherman, Jimmy found peace on the water, whether at the lake or the sea. He was larger than life, known for his humor, storytelling, and ability to bring people together.

He is survived by his mother, Carmen Elisarraras; his children, Jesse Robinson and Tanya McCain; and his grandchildren, Teigen Manriquez, Wilder McCain, and Piper McCain. He also leaves behind his siblings, David Robinson, Zedina Godfrey, Tomás Robinson, and Marty Elisarraras, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Marcus G. Elisarraras and David J. Robinson, Sr., and his nephew, Alex René Robinson.

A service will be held at Victory Outreach Church of El Paso de Robles, 2919 Union Road, on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at 10 a.m., with a reception to follow.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this time. Jimmy’s presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
