Heavy rain, wind in the forecast today for Paso Robles
Season rainfall total reaches 4.95 inches
– Heavy rain and wind are expected to continue throughout the day, with .66 inches of rainfall recorded this morning at the Paso Robles Water Yard. The total rainfall for the season is now at 4.95 inches. Daily measurements of precipitation are recorded at the Water Yard, located at 1230 Paso Robles Street in downtown Paso Robles, with data collected at 7 a.m. for the preceding 24 hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for San Luis Obispo County, including Paso Robles, until 8 a.m. this morning. Flooding is expected in low-lying areas and places with poor drainage. Rainfall rates of up to .30 inches per hour are expected, with some higher terrain areas receiving up to 4 inches of rain.
Today’s forecast is heavy rain and wind, with temperatures ranging from 56°F to 47°F and 0.93 inches of precipitation. Weather Underground is predicting nearly an inch of rain today.
Friday will be partly cloudy with a high of 58°F and a low of 34°F, bringing no precipitation. Saturday will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures reaching 61°F during the day and 37°F at night, with no precipitation. Sunday will see a mix of morning clouds and afternoon sun, with a high of 67°F and a low of 42°F, and no precipitation expected.
Monday will be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 63°F to 39°F and no precipitation. Tuesday’s forecast also calls for partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from 64°F to 39°F, with no precipitation. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with temperatures reaching 68°F during the day and 41°F at night, with no precipitation expected. By Thursday, the weather will be mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 67°F to 41°F and no precipitation.
Residents are urged to avoid flooded areas and not to drive through standing water.
A high wind warning is also in effect, with gusts potentially reaching hazardous levels.
