Tour of Paso bike ride raises funds for cancer patients
Cyclists of all skill levels can choose between a 50-mile or 26-mile route, both starting and ending at Niner Wine Estates
– The 17th Annual Tour of Paso bike ride will take place on Sunday, April 6, inviting cyclists to ride through Paso Robles wine country while raising funds for local cancer patients, survivors, and their families. The event is hosted by the Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast.
The bike ride serves as a primary fundraiser for the organization, which provides free support programs and services for those impacted by cancer in San Luis Obispo County. Executive Director Candice Galli emphasized the event’s significance. “The Tour of Paso is more than a bike ride—it’s a powerful demonstration of community solidarity. The funds raised directly benefit local cancer patients and their families, ensuring they receive the emotional, social, and mental health support they need. Our motto, ‘Community is Stronger than Cancer,’ is reflected in every mile cycled and every dollar raised,” Galli said.
Cyclists of all skill levels can choose between a 50-mile or 26-mile route, both starting and ending at Niner Wine Estates. The course runs through rolling hills, vineyards, and spring wildflowers. “Cycling through Paso’s wine country in the spring is simply spectacular,” Galli said.
Registration is open at tourofpaso.org. The fee is $85, with a fundraising minimum of $200. Top fundraisers, both individuals and teams, will receive prizes in recognition of their efforts.
VineCycle E-Bike Vineyard Tours will offer e-bike rentals for participants. “I’m proud to support Cancer Support Community by making this event accessible to more riders,” said Jeff Lindenthal, owner of VineCycle.
