    Man reportedly breaks into ex’s home, rams car, brandishes axe before arrest 

    san luis obispo police– Brian Dill, a 41-year-old transient of San Luis Obispo, was arrested early Monday morning, Feb. 25, for felony domestic violence and felony burglary.

    At 1:04 a.m., the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a 911 call from an adult female reporting that her ex-boyfriend had broken into her apartment, strangled her, and then left. While she was on the phone with dispatch, the suspect returned and broke a window with a hammer.

    Officers responded quickly and saw the suspect leaving the area in his car with the lights blacked out. Officers lost sight of the vehicle near the freeway, and a “be on the lookout” alert was issued to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Moments later, CHP informed the San Luis Obispo Police Department that the suspect vehicle had rammed another car on northbound Highway 101 at California Boulevard while waving an axe out the window. The suspect was located near Santa Rosa Park, where he fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.

    Dill was booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail for felony corporal injury, felony burglary of an occupied residence, felony possession of a controlled substance with two priors, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. His bail has been set at $100,000, and he remains in custody.
